Hi, I’m Alex Hughes, your Virtual Business Manager

I have over 17 years’ experience as an Administration Manager for a London based SME, but add to that 16 years’ experience in international trading and sales, and some optimal time management and organisational skills from running my own business, managing my home, bringing up my children and caring for elderly parents and you can be sure I have the skills you’re looking for.

I’ve been supporting business owners like you with business management and administrative needs since founding Auxilium Admin in 2016. I had a bit of a “lightbulb moment” that year after lots of people had asked me for help and support and I realised that I could offer my skills as a Virtual Business Manager. That’s what I’ve been doing ever since, and I’d like to help you too.

Auxilium is Latin for “aid, assist and support” and that’s what I want to do by seamlessly integrating with small businesses and helping them on their business administration journey.

I’m passionate about giving back to SME’s in my local area and buying from and supporting local businesses and charities is a real passion of mine.You can often find me at local networking events in and around Kingston-upon-Thames and Surrey meeting other business owners and offering advice and connections, wherever I can. Networking has enabled me to grow my business with the “know, like and trust effect” and I heartily believe in the power of giving back whenever, whatever and however you can.

My major goal for 2020 is to continue to be a lifelong learner and to achieve that I will be:

  • reading the many books I have bought that are currently abandoned on my bookshelves
  • attending short courses that interest me (but aren’t business related!), Calligraphy is one I’m keen to get started with soon
  • stepping out of my comfort zone to give workshops and talks and help others to learn too
